CASE STUDY
Improve website design to drive more reservations
Modern design practices include user-centric design principles and design based on the end user’s resources, upon which the product will be used. In the case of website design, the resources in question are web browsers in desktop computers, laptops, tablet, PCs and mobile devices.
The old website of Left Bank Bistro was outdated and was difficult to use. After scanning the website and talking with the restaurant staff, these were the main pain points.
- Issues in responsiveness.
- Difficulties in finding contents.
- Misplace of contents and mostly irrelevant contents.
- The problem of booking a table from the website. This was one of the main issues for both workers as well as users.
- Problem on Menu placement and prices. This caused misunderstanding and often customer dissatisfaction.
- To build a new website with a mobile-first principle and with a completely new design that looks modern.
- To give users easy access to what they want in a first glance without making them think.
- To help the restaurant retain trust from their customers and show that they actually care what customers want by adopting the new design.
- To help users save them time by making things quick and by requiring less input.
- To help the restaurant get more table reservations and less confusion.
- Give admin panel support so they can update contents.
We proposed a brand new and fully responsive website which fits almost all the screens and fulfills the goal mentioned above.
Initially client meetings for eliciting the requirements for the re-design of the website were carried out. After that different levels of mockups and wireframes were produced. When the site architecture was designed, user testing was performed. The wireframes were designed after meeting the client and presenting them a sitemap. A colour profile based on the brand of the customer was created. The images of probable alternative looks were created by using Adobe Photoshop based on the wireframes. After careful examination and matching with colour profile, one of the images was selected as a mockup.

CASE STUDY
Redesign website to better showcase their business and services
Modern design practices include user-centric design principles and design based on the end user’s resources, upon which the product will be used. In the case of website design, the resources in question are web browsers in desktop computers, laptops, tablet, PCs and mobile devices.
The existing RoundTable website which was built in 2015 no longer reflected the business and services the client was offering. After reviewing the website and exploring competitors both locally and abroad a few key issues presented themselves.
1. The website was not responsive across all devices.
2. The site structure and content was not user focused.
3. There was no clear blog / resource centre to highlight their thought leadership within their market.
4. The funnel from when you arrive on the site to requesting a consultation was not effective
5. The existing design of the website was a basic WordPress template that was no longer fit for purpose.
Evaluate the existing website and advise if this site can be upgraded or if better to start from scratch.
Propose a new design for the website that reflects RoundTables client group.
Ensure the new site is SEO optimised and easily found.
Integrate the new site with their most popular social channels, LinkedIn and Twitter.
Build a robust and user friendly resource centre to display thought leadership.
Review and optimise content provided by the client for maximum onsite impact.
Build the website mobile first and optimise for desktop.
Integrate a simple and effective dashboard for the client to make easy content changes.
We suggested the we start from scratch with a unique and professional website design that would reflect RoundTables position in the market in order to attract new business.
Initially we met with the client for a discovery phase. This helped us to establish requirements for the re-design of the website.
After that different mockups and wireframes were approved so we could move onto the site architecture and user testing was performed.
The wireframes were designed after meeting the client and presenting them a sitemap.
RoundTable already had an existing colour profile on the existing site which they wanted to maintain so we developed images of how the site would look using Adobe Photoshop based on the wireframes.
After careful examination and matching with colour profile, one of the images was selected as a mockup and the site was developed.
